Ask your contractor to confirm the whole system is rated. Swapping old attic vents for ember-resistant ones during a re-roof is a smart upgrade, and clearing needles and firewood from the zone right around the house matters just as much.
Permits and Colorado wildfire requirements
Because The Pinery is unincorporated, roof permits go through the Douglas County Building Division. Depending on a property's fire intensity classification, a re-roof may have to meet Colorado's wildfire resiliency requirements, which can affect the materials allowed.
